It was two months ago this week that we drove across Oklahoma, the panhandle of Texas and into New Mexico to live in a travel trailer until we could get through quarantine and find a home. What a crazy transition it has been. Yet, we have seen God continue to provide and work in our lives in refreshing and amazing ways. The last two weeks have been the craziest of them all as we were impacted in unforeseen ways by a hurricane in Florida that pushed our closing date of our home.
We can see the light at the end of the tunnel. We are scheduled to close tomorrow, Friday, morning at 9:00 and begin the process of taking our stuff out of storage and move it into our new home. This transition really began four months ago as we saw God moving us here and we began the process of preparing our house to be put on the market. We are excited to get out of storage some of our items that we have not seen since that time. Our kids will think it is Christmas when they see toys that they forgot they even own.
Our perspective of home has changed over the last few months. Home is where we are as a family. Home is ever changing. However, it has also been a reminder of how we long for our permanent home. The Bible tells us that the earth is not our home. We are aliens awaiting the day we get to be home with the Lord. That will be a day of no more transitions. Until that day we will continue to find peace in the hope of eternal glory with God. We are here for just a moment. Our eternal home is coming.
