After the survey we took on Sunday of our 8:30 and 9:45 services, we have some exciting news. The 8:30 service will return to the sanctuary on March 28. The drive-in has been a blessing for so many and will be something we will always remember but it is exciting to move back inside. There are still a few who prefer to have the drive-in service for a little longer. The drive-in service will be moved to 9:45 in a simpler format for those who are not ready to join us inside. Starting on the 28th gives us a week to clean off the rust and be ready for Easter Sunday the following week. After missing Easter in person last year, it is thrilling to know we will be together in the worship center.

As we move back to a more normal schedule it is a good time to initiate a few logistical changes. We want to be a welcoming church to everyone coming into our facilities to worship with us. We need to strengthen how we welcome those who show up on campus and how we keep everyone safe. I would like to see more volunteers than ever working every week to help our members and guests feel welcome from the time they pull into the parking lot until the moment they pull out at the end of the morning. We need people ready to welcome for both worship services and Sunday School. In order to be the best hosts we can possible be, we are going to change the logistics of how these ministries work and we want everyone to help.

We have had several groups that have worked independently of each other in the past. I want to re-unite the ushers, inside greeters, parking lot greeters and security team into the Welcoming Team. Besides simplifying the logistics, this will help everyone work together for the common goal of helping everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and safe while they are in the facilities. Everyone serving in this way should have their eyes open for security issues and everyone should be working to make others feel welcome. We will still have a couple people every week as part of this team who will emphasize security, but they will work it as part of the overall Welcoming Team. We want to have people welcoming our guests in the parking lot, at the doors, and throughout the building. This will take a large volunteer group every week if we are to do it well. We will need some who will work weekly and others willing to be on a rotation.

If you are willing to be part of this very important ministry, we are having a meeting on March 21 at 4:00 to discuss the logistics and go over some basic training. If you are willing to serve but cannot make the meeting please email me at pastor@dnbc.org. God has great things in store for us as we move forward. Thank you for helping us be prepared to welcome every person God entrusts to us. May many come to know Him as their Lord and Savior.
